Found this little guy in someone’s trash pickup
We had one at work a couple jobs back, and it’s a pretty badass vacuum. There are some cracked plastic parts; I figure I’ll see a bit later if the mechanicals still work, and if we can’t nurse it back to health.

Damn that’s an old Dyson. I had two Dysons, both lasted 5 years, and died within about 2 weeks of each other. They weren’t a bad vacuum, but I think they're too expensive when there's other things out there that are as good at a (much) cheaper price.

I have a Dyson I got on Groupon for $200. The DC33 if I remember correctly. Great vacuum.

Yeah, I would never buy a new one, but hey. We’ll see how expensive the parts are shortly...

I’ve got a big ol’ collection of resurrected electronics/electrical things I pull from people’s junk. Right now I’ve got multiple fancy ass desk lamps, a carpet cleaner, a dehumidifier and a humidifier, couple irons, hand mixer, a washer and dryer, and like 6 microwaves. I fix them up then donate to the kid’s at church for their rummage sale.
People are crazy throwing away perfectly good stuff because they don’t know how to replace a fuse or belt or power cable or whatever.

I’m just going to leave this here, one of the most interesting Reddit AMAs.

I threw out that exact same model a year ago, because a bunch of the plastic parts had become brittle and were starting to crack or snap off in various places.
